ABS has good chemical and cracking resistance against inorganic solvents, bases, mineral acids (except strong oxidizing acids) and some animal, vegetable and mineral oils. ABS can be easily machined with high precision, it is hard and dimensionally stable, and it can be formed with heat. Oils, solvents and paints obtained from petroleum should not be used in the vicinity of this substance. ABS is one of the few non-metallic materials that can be easily electroplated.
